Famous UFO Abduction CasesWell Known Cases Of People Who Claim To Have Been Abducted By Aliens
Although it might seem like nothing more than science fiction to some people, to researchers and alleged victims, alien abductions are real.
With the increase of UFO sightings comes the increase of people who claim to have been abducted by aliens. The UFO abduction scenarios are quite similar. People are taken up to a ship in a beam of light, medical experiments are performed, and then they are returned to or near the location they were abducted from. Here is a look at some of the most famous cases of alien abduction. Betty and Barney HillOn September 19, 1961, while traveling home from a trip to Montréal, Barney spotted an object in the sky. He stopped the car to get a look at it and saw several beings staring down at him. He returned to the car and quickly sped away. The next thing he and Betty knew was that they were 35 miles down the road. They would later find out that they had over two hours of missing time. Physical and psychological effects began to plague the Hills. Barney's ulcer returned and Betty suffered from nightmares. The Hills decided to seek help and were referred to Dr. Benjamin Simon, a Boston psychiatrist who performed hypnosis on them. Under hypnosis, Betty and Barney recalled being taken aboard of a UFO and Betty drew Zeti Reticuli, which had not yet been discovered. The Hills' abduction story is told in the book, Interrupted Journey, by John G. Fuller, and the 1975 TV movie The UFO Incident starring James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons. The Travis Walton Abduction CaseWhile traveling home from work on November 5, 1975, Travis Walton, his foreman Mike Rogers, and fellow workers observed an object in the sky. Curious, Walton got out of the truck to take a closer look. He was a hit by a beam of light which knocked him to the ground. Frightened, Rogers sped away. He returned shortly only to find that Walton had vanished. A manhunt followed to no avail. Walton was nowhere to be found. Five days later Walton returned in a frail condition. Walton recalled being on board a spaceship with small creatures who had enormous eyes. His story was made into the movie Fire in the Sky. Although based his story, a more factual account of his experience can be found in Walton's book Fire in the Sky. The Allagash AbductionsTwin brothers, Jack and Jim Weiner, along with friends Chuck Rak and Charles Foltz, were enjoying a fishing trip at Eagle Rock in Maine. On August 26, 1976, they decided to try some night fishing. While out on the lake they saw a large, glowing object. Frightened, they paddled back to shore only to find that the fire at their campsite was out, although it should have kept burning for hours. No one spoke of what happened, but as time went on, each of them started having nightmares about the incident. They eventually all went through regressive hypnosis with Raymond E. Fowler and recalled similar stories. Raymond E. Fowler's book, Allagash Abductions documents their story. Whitley StrieberWhitley Strieber was vacationing during the Christmas holidays in 1985 at a cabin in the woods in upstate New York. One night he was awakened by an unusual sound. Shortly after, a strange creature appeared in his room. The next thing Strieber recalls is waking up in the woods outside of the cabin. With only spotted memories, Strieber underwent regression hypnosis with Raymond E. Fowler. His story is told in Fowler's book, Communion, along with the film, Communion, starring Christopher Walken. Many addition cases of so-called alien abduction exist, although the above are some of the most famous cases. Readers may also enjoy Are UFOs and Aliens Real? and Have Aliens Visited Earth Before?
